hi, i'm mingie.
where it began
i grew up in augusta, georgia as the daughter of korean immigrants who believed wholeheartedly in the american dream. funny enough, i wasn't allowed to drink coffee as a kid - my mom was convinced it would stunt my growth (the jury's still out on that one).
it wasn't until college, while working part-time at a local coffee shop to make ends meet, that i fell in love. a patient lead barista taught me the basics, and something just clicked. the science, the artistry, the way a good cup of coffee could make you slow down and simply be - i was hooked.
the long wait
that’s when the dream started: a little coffee shop, a warm space, and good people. i knew it then in the way only kids can know things — with absolute certainty and zero doubt.
but life has a way of making you practical. fear creeps in, and stability feels a lot safer than chasing dreams. so i carried that little dream quietly for years, waiting for the “right moment” that never seemed to come.
the leap
until one day, i set up a humble coffee cart in my apartment just to create a vibe, and a friend looked at me and said, "just do it."
so i did.
goodgood coffee is for little mingie, who still believed everything was possible. it's for every person who shows up to an event and can find a friendly face and really great cup of coffee waiting for them. the fear of failing hasn't gone anywhere, but the joy of connecting with people over coffee is louder.
we can't wait to serve you.
mingie, founder of goodgood coffee
